Wild Hands Flames Fourth Straight Loss

Calgary Flames are in a groove, but it's a boring one: Open scoring battlefront lose visitors.

It happened again Friday night at the Xcel Energy Center, while the Flames were down 2-1 against the Minnesota Wild in a game that probably played well enough to win but not good enough to win.

It is four consecutive defeats, the last two by 2-1 decisions, and the competition becomes not easier, as they move in Game 2 of this four-game trip that continues Tuesday night in Denver against the Colorado Avalanche.

The defeat also dropped the Flames at least 11 seats in the Western Conference, but only two points behind the Wild, who moved into a share of seventh.
