BSE Benchmark Sensex Soars Past 18,000 Points on Positive Asian Cues

A benchmark index of Indian capital markets soared beyond the psychological level of 18,000 points on Tuesday importance of positive signs from other Asian markets.

The sensitivity rate of 30 stocks (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened in the positive sense to 17,929.09 points, surpassed the mark of 18,000 points before midday.

Around 2 p.m., the benchmark Sensex was trading at 17,991.34 points, up 0.85 percent or 152.29 points at the previous close of 17,839.05 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 18,041.22 points and a minimum of 17,878.80 points in the intra day until now.

At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the 50-share S & P CNX Nifty was up 0.90 percent or 48.25 points to 5413 points.

The main market and sector indices also in the positive direction.
