The wait for about 2,67,953 anxious students who appeared in the class 12th examinations conducted by Punjab State Education Board (PSEB) is over as the latter has announced the results for the year 2011 with the passing percentage of 72.71 where girls have yet again kept the trend going and have left the boys behind by scoring 81.89 passing percentage compared to 66.21% of boys.
PSEB chairman Dr. Dalbeer Singh Dhillon confirmed that the results have been declared and will be uploaded on the official website of PSEB during midnight after which students can check their results by 7:00 am in the morning where as the merit list containing the names of 271 students has already been uploaded. These results can be checked on the results portal of PSEB on http://www.pseb.ac.in/Result.aspx, when published completely. Students can also get the results on SMS after typing PSEB12(space)Roll Number and send it to 56263.
Ludhiana district secured the first place where as Hoshiyarpur and Amritsar district did good to secure the second and third position respectively in the state. These results were earlier scheduled to release on 4th and then 5th June, however postponed as PSEB wanted to be extra cautious to not to repeat the blunder committed last year where there was a major discrepancy in the results.
