Angelina Jolie has revealed that repeated love to reprise her role as Evelyn in Salt for "Salt 2".

“I”d love to do a sequel. You never know if you”re going to get the chance, if audiences are going to love it. But particularly with this character, I think there is so much yet to explore in her life with her – with her family, with coming to terms with who she is in the end, because of the way it”s set up, she could be anybody,” said Angelina Jolie .

“She could be in any country, she could speak any language, and so we have a lot of opportunities.

April Fool Day joke or reality : Karan Johar to get married this year?

One doesn't know if it is an April Fool’s Day joke, but the Bollywood gossip is alive with the buzz that filmmaker Karan Johar, known to be a confirmed bachelor all along, is all set to tie the knot.

Johar, 38, is said to be romantically involved with New Yorkbased Vandana Melwani, 31, and may get hitched with her this year. Not much is known about Melwani, who has no Bollywood or showbiz connection, except that she has been a close friend of Johar for quite some time.

“ Vandana’s family and Karan’s family share a very good relationship and have known each other for years now. About a year ago, Karan was spotted with Vandana in New York and then in London. Vandana does not belong to the film industry and is media shy,” said a source.

Sources further said that Johar’s frequent visits to New York could also have to do with meeting Vandana. It is wellknown that the writer- filmmaker prefers to fly off to New York to write his scripts without any disturbance, away from the humdrum of Mumbai.

“ If the reports of his impending marriage are indeed true, obviously the reason for Karan’s frequent trips to New York was not just about writing,” the source said.

Our efforts to reach Johar were unsuccessful, but our source added: “ Karan always denied dating anyone and has never been linked with anyone in Bollywood. He has repeatedly said he has no issues being single and is happy to be a bachelor.

“ However it was Karan’s mother, Hiroo Johar, who has all along wanted him to settle down. While Karan has clearly said time and again that there is no urgency to get married, his family would be happy to see him tie the knot.” If all things fall in place, Johar and Melwani could have a private wedding where only a select guest list of close friends and families would be invited.

Johar has neither denied nor confirmed the reports, although a section of the press suggested that he admitted his marriage plans to Melwani in a Dubai based Bollywood magazine. Most of his close friends in the industry have expressed surprise over the report. Many others feel it is someone’s idea of a practical joke for April 1.

Only time will tell, of course.

Govinda's daughter Narmmadaa Ahuja debuts with Vijender Singh

Bollywood star Govinda is in no mood to take risks with the film launch of his daughter Narmmadaa Ahuja. Narmmadaa is all set to make her debut opposite Olympic bronze medal-winning boxer Vijender Singh in a yet- untitled romantic comedy set in a small town.

The movie will be directed by debutant Lovely Singh and Govinda plans to make a grand official announcement about the project soon. The film will go on floors early next month.


Govinda has been planning to launch Narmmadaa in Hindi films for almost three years now but was reportedly waiting for the right script. There is a buzz that Govinda has personally invested a huge amount of money in the project. Not long ago, reports were rife that Govinda was hoping friend Salman Khan would help him launch Narmadaa, which never happened.

“ There has been talk that Govinda was upset with Salman because he gave a break to Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter Sonakshi in Dabangg , over Narmmadaa. All that, however, is behind them now,” said a source in the industry.

Roping in Vijender has been a plus point. “ He is blessed with handsome features. Being a youth icon, he comes with the advantage of being a star even before joining films,” said the source.

Narmmadaa will play a village girl in the film. Vijender is supposed to play a regular loverboy. Narmmadaa has been making preparations for her debut. She has taken to yoga and is following a strict diet. She has also enrolled herself in a dance class,” the source said. Director Rupert Goold, making his first major movie to film the project for BBC television in June and July.

Goold made a film version of Macbeth with Patrick Stewart, which is based on the production he directed in Chichester, and then the West End and Broadway, but that was very much a play that was filmed.

Dane Cook, Julia Stiles Broadway Play Delayed

When we talked with Dane Cook at SXSW on his latest film project, "detention," the actor said he intended to end the year with a planned move in a Broadway show, then several months write a new book he had published both in 2012.

Payal Rohatgi accuses close pal Dibakar Banerjee of molesting her

Former Bigg Boss contestant Payal Rohatgi has levelled molestation charges against filmmaker Dibakar Banerjee, who made films such as Khosla Ka Ghosla and Love Sex Aur Dhokha.

Payal has claimed that Dibakar made unsavoury comments about her weight and insisted she lift her top to show him her belly because he wanted to “ check” how much weight she had put on. She claimed the incident happened at her home recently.

Incidentally, Payal’s allegation has come in the wake of reports suggesting she failed an audition for Dibakar’s upcoming film, Shanghai . Explaining Dibakar’s presence at her home, Payal claimed she had become a close friend of the filmmaker over the past few months and it was natural that he visited her.

“ That day at my place, what shocked me was his insistence that I lift my top to show him my belly. At first I thought he said it in jest. I soon realised he hadn’t,” she said.

Payal said she first interacted with Dibakar after sending him a text message requesting a professional meeting. As they became friends, Payal claimed, she also started seeking his advice on personal matters.

Dibakar has flatly declined the molestation charge. According to him, responding to several calls from Payal, he met her at the convention centre of a five- star hotel for the first time in March last year.

“ The meeting was strictly professional and Payal told me she wanted to do serious roles. I referred her to my casting director and she was called for an audition for Shanghai subsequently,” Dibakar said.

On the fateful incident where he allegedly asked to see her belly, Dibakar had a different story to tell. According to him, Payal said she was feeling low after the audition and she told him that she wanted to talk to him.

“ I was visiting a friend at a studio and she said she wanted to talk. I agreed to pick her up from her residence. I was there for less than five minutes. The talk of her weight cropped up much later once we had reached the studio. When the subject was discussed, there were several others present. I spoke professionally, saying that she would need to shed weight if she wanted the role.

There was no demand from anyone that she lift her top,” he said.

Keeping in mind the theme of sweet deception, decadence and debauchery, she opened the show with a fashion film made by her. The intricate headpieces consisted of bright floral motifs of orchids, foliage and glass spikes combined with bright neon coloured heart and star accessories.

Gul Panag wedding solemnised with longtime pilot pal Rishi Attari

Actor, model and former Miss India Gul Panag, breaking many hearts, got hitched on Sunday! She tied the knot with former classmate and longtime friend Rishi Attari, a commercial pilot with Jet Airways, at a private family ceremony in Panchkula near Chandigarh.

The wedding was solemnised at a gurdwara according to Sikh rituals and amid festivities, typical of a Punjabi marriage. Sources in Gul’s family said the 32- yearold’s wedding was attended by close relatives and friends of the couple.

The families held a reception at Panchkula later in the day. There will, of course, be a party for friends from the film industry in Mumbai, but later. Gul’s Punjabi bride outfit as well as Rishi’s dress were designed by Anita Dongre and J. J. Mallya.

Fash foot forward at Lakme Fashion Week 2011

Designer Anamika Khanna’s exquisite collection marked the opening of the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/ Resort 2011 in Mumbai at the offsite location of Tote on Thursday. The collection was a combination of the ethereal and the androgynous along with the sublime and the temporal. Models criss- crossed one another on the indoor- outdoor runway draped in dresses, wide legged pants, belted jackets, tuxedo shirts and tailored coats.

The collection welcomed the masculine silhouettes, structured long coats and fitted cuts finally elbowing out the flirty, voluminous and feminine forms that have dominated the runway season for far too long. With a classic colour palette of whites and blacks, the presentation of delicate chikan kurtas paired with pyjamas, waistcoats worn over lehengas and skirts and tiny cholis teamed with voluminous straight leg pants gave the perfect masculine touch to conventional feminine drapes.

The subtle thread work, appliqué detailing and cut out work embroidered on the jackets, coats, borders, cuffs and sleeves drew its inspiration from India’s ancient regal era. The dhoti played a major inspiration for the drapes that gave this comfortable yet contemporary collection the unmistaken Indian touch.

To beat the sweltering heat, the fabrics were restricted to breathable mulmuls, cottons and linens with silk reserved for the formal ensembles. A set of ensembles in hues of deep red, maroons and purple broke the classic monotone leaving the audience wanting more.

The voluminous lehengas with thin gold borders were aesthetically beautiful and easy on the eye with simplistic elegance. Antique shawls, glittering collars, silk mojaris and juttis in silver, grey and gold also gave the perfect ethnic finish to this timeless collection.

The mood was set to the drumbeats of musicians Anup and Martin of Nirv-a-Funk who transported the audience to a world of eternal beauty and transcendental designs of the designer.

Actor Sonam Kapoor and her sister Rhea added sheen to the show as they turned up for Anamika.
