Boss Training reaches 100 prisoners in West Yorkshire

BOSS Training Ltd, the Yorkshire based training provider, is pleased to announce that a successful collaboration with the West Yorkshire Probation Trust has led to the company providing training to over 100 prisoners and ex-offenders.

The company, which specialises in working at height and safety training courses, joined The Corporate Alliance in 2007 and has since worked on a number of projects for the probation board, including helping prisoners and ex-offenders to develop a amongst other things, a DVD about working with employers to find job opportunities and provide training for ex-offenders.

BOSS Training has worked with ex-offenders in the Yorkshire & Humber region and across the UK, helping them to achieve qualifications for real job opportunities. Some of the courses the company has provided include PASMA Scaffold Tower Training, IPAF Scissor Lift, Cherry Picker Training and First Aid.

Debbie Clark, regional employer engagement manager, Yorkshire & Humber Probation Service said:

“We have placed ex-offenders on IPAF and PASMA training courses with BOSS Training, their instructors are particularly good at being able to empathise with delegates from a diverse range of backgrounds.

Many ex-offenders that have taken part in the training, have gone on to find work as a direct result of the support provided by BOSS Training.

The Corporate Alliance works with employers to find feasible employment opportunities in labour based sectors for ex-offenders. Finding a job is one of the factors that can significantly reduce re-offending in our local communities by up to 50%.
