After a challenging first event due to inclement weather, the Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship presented by Continental Tire takes back to the track at Grand Prix ICAR in Mirabel, Quebec for Rounds 3 and 4 of its
2011 Season.
Competitors get on the track beginning Friday morning with a practice session followed by after-noon qualifying. Saturday, in preparation for Round 3, another practice session will take place in the morning. The first race of the weekend will be held Saturday afternoon. Round 4 of the Championship will be presented Sunday morning. Tickets to attend the event are available at www.circuiticar.com.
With the first event of 2011 behind them, the competitors already have a good idea of who they are fighting against and how to challenge them. Having experienced changing conditions during the last event, the teams learned a lot about the grip of their new slick Continental Extreme Contact tires. The competitors are hoping for better the track conditions this weekend and to put on another great show. This year, CTCC's participating manufacturers
are: Acura, BMW, Chevrolet, Honda, Hyundai, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Pontiac and Subaru. This season, there will be new models from Audi and Scion too.
The CTCC 2010 Super Class Champion, Nick Wittmer will return for his first race with the Championship this weekend at Circuit ICAR. Wittmer will be driving a Hyundai Tiburon from the Fastco Motorsports team, car # 74 will carry the number one board.
