Youth Sports: Baseball - 12U Potomac Riverdogs Capture Riverdog Rumble Tournament

(June 7, 2011) - The 12U Potomac Riverdogs baseball team went 6-0 in the Riverdog Rumble Tournament over Memorial Day weekend, outscoring opponents 39-13 and beating the SYA Mets to win the championship game. The team, coached by Dan Sullivan, is No. 1 in the standings in ODBL with a 10-2 record.

Youth Sports: Boys Basketball - Flexx All Stars 4th Grade Goes Undefeated in Spring League

(June 7, 2011) - The Flexx All Stars, an Ashburn and Lansdowne based AAU basketball program, added a 4th grade team to their organization this year and the team finished the Triple Threat Spring League regular season undefeated with a 7-0 record.

Youth Sports: Gymnastics - APEX Announces Summer Camps

(June 6, 2011) - APEX announced its 2011 summer camps schedule with a diverse offering for different age groups and instructional levels.


Summer Blast Camps - Ages 3 and up: Campers will participate in themed camps with activities including gymnastics, crafts and games. Campers will bring their lunches Monday through Thursday and we will provide pizza and juice on Friday! No peanut products

Youth Sports: Baseball - 13th Annual Mickie Gordon Tournament Opens Today

(May 27, 2011) - The Greater Loudoun Babe Ruth League hosts starting today the 13th Annual Mickie Gordon Tournament which will run through May 30th in Loudoun County

Teams from Maryland, West Virginia and Northern Virginia will be playing in the 13th Annual Mickie Gordon Tournament hosted by the Greater Loudoun Babe Ruth League.

Youth Sports: APEX All-Star Team Finishes Season on Top with 11 Individual State Champions



(May 26, 2011) - THe APEX all-star gymnastics team finished the season on top by crowning 11 individual state champions at the state meet May 21-22 in Fredericksburg.

Many of the gymnasts earned their highest scores of the season. APEX crowned 11 individual state champions, twop in the all around.

Youth Sports: Loudoun Triple Threat 5th Grade Boys to Hold Tryouts for Summer Teams

(May 26, 20110 - The Loudoun Triple Threat Boys 5th grade program will hold two tryouts for its summer basketball teams.

Tryouts are: Wednesday, June 15th at Smart's Mill Aux gym from 6:15 - 8:00pm and
Friday, June 17th at Douglass Community Center from 6:00 - 7:30pm

Youth Sports - Gymnastics - APEX Level 5's Rock the State Meet

(May 4, 2011) - The APEX gymnastics level 5 team finished their season with strong overall performances at the State Meet, taking 10th in the large team competition. More than 35 teams from all over Virginia competed in this competition held in Fredericksburg.

Youth Sports - Basketball - LTT Select Wins Girls Division 2 State Championship

(Mar. 29, 2011) - The 7th grade Loudoun Triple Threat Select registered an impressive 5-0 mark in girls state tournament play held in Hampton and won their contests by a combined score of 315-146 for an average differential margin of 33 points per contest.

(Mar. 29, 2011) - The APEX gymnastics Level 6 and 7 teams competed in their state championships over the weekend at Virginia Beach with the Level 6 team finishing 4th in the team competition and Julia Ames crowned as state vault champion. Youth Sports - Gymnastics - APEX Qualifies 29 to Regional Competition

(Mar. 22, 2011) - The APEX girls and boys gymnastic teams were in full force this past weekend at the state championship competitions where APEX qualified a record 29 gymnasts to postseason competition.

The APEX girls team finished 10th in the Level 9 Team competition with most gymnasts competing in their first year of this highly competitive level.
