Although the press conference yesterday, was called to relegate Rico Rodriguez Michigan coach in the past, athletic director David Brandon has sent most of the questions about the future - in particular, that would be the next coach.
Several names have been floating in and out of the debate. Jim Harbaugh at Stanford, Brady Hoke, and San Diego State, Northwestern's Pat Fitzgerald and even suggested the possible replacement candidates.
And even if the speculation about the status of the work of Rodriguez is over, the speculation about his replacement has just been up and running.
Brandon Harbaugh not specifically said he believed that the coach will meet Stanford in the NFL. Brandon did not offer much in the way of naming, which would probably replace Rodriguez, but he spoke of what he was looking for a replacement.
"This individual is a person is highly visible to a large extent, the name and face, which is very important for the university," Brandon said. "This person must be able to compete at the highest levels. Expectations are very high here ... (and) that the coach puts them in a position where they must have the ability to resist such pressure to do so."
He added that the head coach of the football team will be "an important spokesman for the university."
