Movie of the Month - Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
Johnny Depp returns as Captain Jack Sparrow in the fourth instalment of Walt Disney’s blockbuster Pirates of the Caribbean series (and the first to be released in 3D), with Rob Marshall (Chicago) stepping in to take over directorial duties from Gore Verbinski. The action-packed adventure takes inspiration from Tim Powers’ 1988 novel On Stranger Tides and sees Captain Jack crossing paths with the enigmatic Angelica (Penélope Cruz), daughter of the fearsome pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane), on a quest to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. Also featuring in the cast are Geoffrey Rush, Kevin McNally, Richard Griffiths, Stephen Graham, Judi Dench, Greg Ellis, Damian O’Hare, Gemma Ward, Roger Allam and Keith Richards.

Director Scott Charles Stewart (Legion) adapts Min-Woo Hyung’s Korean post-apocalyptic comic series. Paul Bettany stars as a priest who sets out into the wastelands on a rescue mission after his niece (Lily Collins) is kidnapped by vampires.
Something Borrowed (May 6th)
Luke Greenfield (The Girl Next Door) directs Kate Hudson, Ginnifer Goodwin, John Krasinski and Colin Egglesfield in this romantic comedy based on American author Emily Griffin’s 2004 novel of the same name.
Water for Elephants (May 6th)
A veterinary student (Robert Pattinson) joins a circus troupe after a family tragedy and finds himself falling for the star attraction (Reese Witherspoon), who happens to be trapped in an unhappy marriage with the circus ringmaster (Christoph Waltz).
Attack the Block (May 13th)
British comedian Joe Cornish makes his directorial debut with Attack the Block, a sci-fi comedy that sees a gang of South London youths defending themselves from an alien invasion. Executive-produced by Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead), with a supporting turn from Nick Frost.
Red Hill (May 13th)
The debut of Australian writer-director Patrick Hughes, Red Hill is a modern-day Western that sees a young police officer squaring off with a brutal murderer looking to exact revenge on those who put him behind bars.
Take Me Home Tonight (May 13th)
Topher Grace, Anna Faris, Dan Fogler and Teresa Palmer star in this 80s-set comedy from director Michael Dowse (It’s All Gone Pete Tong) and writers Jeff and Jackie Filgo (That ‘70s Show).
The Way (May 13th)
Emilio Estevez writes, directs, and stars alongside his father Martin Sheen in The Way, an inspirational drama about a doctor (Sheen) who sets off on a pilgrimage along the Camino de Santiago to retrieve the body of his adult son.
Blitz (May 20th)
Jason Statham is a tough British police detective on the hunt for a serial killer in this thriller from director Elliot Lester (Love is the Drug). Based on Ken Bruen’s 2002 novel, Blitz also stars Paddy Considine, Aidan Gillen, Mark Rylance and David Morrissey. Watch the trailer here.

A Spanish horror from director Guillem Morales (The Uncertain Guest) and producer Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth) about a young woman (Belen Rueda) investigating the apparent suicide of her sister while suffering a degenerative eye disease that sees her slowly losing her sight.
Win Win (May 20th)
Thomas McCarthy (The Station Agent) directs Paul Giamatti in this comedy about a struggling lawyer and part-time high-school wrestling coach who hopes to solve his financial problems with the discovery of a star athlete.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Roderick Rules (May 27th)
Zachary Gordon, Robert Capron, Rachael Harris, Steve Zahn and Devon Bostick reprise their roles for a sequel to 2010’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid, directed by British filmmaker David Bowers (Astro Boy).
The Hangover Part II (May 27th)
Director Todd Phillips and stars Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and Justin Bartha hit Bangkok for Ed Helms’ wedding in the sequel to the 2009 hit comedy The Hangover.
