Mathieu Audette at Toronto’s Grand Prix This Weekend

Blainville (Québec), July 12, 2010.– This weekend, the Audette Racing Team will be at Toronto’s Indy Grand Prix, as its driver Mathieu Audette and his Dimensions Doors Acura RSX attempt to claim both victories up for grabs in the Canadian Touring Car Championship.

After winning last month at Mosport, Mathieu Audette was dealt with a more trying weekend during the Grand Prix de Mirabel on July 3rd and 4th, coming away with a podium after encountering mechanical problems in the first of two races. To reclaim a place at the top of the podium, Audette is looking forward to the highly publicized Grand Prix on the streets of Toronto, as Touring Car competes in supporting races of the IndyCar series. The main goal is to earn the maximum number of points to maintain a good overall standing in the hunt for this year’s title declares Mathieu Audette, our bad luck at Mirabel cost us one spot in the championship (we’re now third), so we need to at least make it onto the podium in Toronto. Having said that, my goal is to win both races he adds.

Since the start of the season, the Audette Racing Team has demonstrated excellent performances during the Canadian Touring Car Championship. Mathieu Audette has driven his Dimensions Doors Acura RSX Type-S to the "Top 4", five times in six outings. Toronto marks the mid-way point of the 2010 season and anything is still possible in terms of the title. It’s a high speed track with two straightaways and a more technical section with really tight turns. If it doesn’t rain, there might be a slight advantage for the cars that are more powerful than ours but as far as I’m concerned, the difference will be minimal. We expect stiff competition amongst the front-runners indicates Mathieu.

The Audette Racing Team’s 2010 calendar includes Mathieu Audette in the Canadian Touring Car Championship and his brother Rémy in a partial open-wheel program comprised of events in the Formula Tour 1600 and the American Formula 2000 series. Only Mathieu Audette will be competing in Toronto as Rémy enjoys a weekend off, nevertheless at the track encouraging the entire team.

This season, the Audette Racing team benefits from the support of Dimensions Doors, Novatech, Acura Plus Blainville, Les Extrusions du Nord, Verre Select, Jeld Wen, OPM, Amusements Spectaculaire, Les Moulures PFJV, Mec-Inov and Omnitech.

The Canadian Touring Car Championship takes place over seven racing weekends (always double-headers). Four of these will take place in Ontario and three in Quebec, including twice at the ICAR Complex in Mirabel, and once at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières in August.

The two rounds of the Canadian Touring Car Championship scheduled at the Indy Toronto Grand Prix will take place on Saturday at 5:40 pm and Sunday morning at 9:20.
