Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini is expected to sign the striker Edin Dzeko Bosnia after the Premier League club agreed a transfer fee in Wolfsburg.
"We have agreed a fee," Mancini said on Tuesday. "It's a good player and all teams in Europe want. But we have an important match for Arsenal to come and I'll talk to him after that."
City are second on goal difference for the Premier League leader Manchester United before Wednesday's game against third place Arsenal.
City wants Dzeko 24 years, who scored 66 goals in 111 appearances for Wolfsburg, to stimulate an attack that depended on Argentine striker Carlos Tevez.
Strikers Emmanuel Adebayor and Roque Santa Cruz has been linked with moves elsewhere after failing to impress at City.
