Clugston secures £22 million worth of contracts

Clugston Construction, one of the North’s leading privately owned building and civil engineering contractors, has recently secured contracts worth a total of £22 million.

The projects which are all in the North of England, include two new multi-use facilities, the Hub at Barnard Castle in Teesdale, aimed at 13-19 year olds and the Baths Hall in Scunthorpe, a new entertainment venue. The third is to build an extension and to refurbish Beechwood Primary School in Middlesbrough.

Over 280 people will be employed by the company on the three projects, at their peak. Clugston Construction is committed to using local labour and suppliers wherever it can to deliver projects.

The Hub is designed to attain a high level BREEAM (BRE Environmental Assessment Method) rating. The works at Beechwood Primary School are also predicted to receive a very good BREEAM.

Paul Gouland, marketing director at Clugston Construction, commented about the projects:
“We are extremely pleased that despite the current economic climate, we continue to be chosen to work on projects of this nature in the North of England. And it’s encouraging to see that these types of projects are still going ahead.”
