First official trailer and poster for Marvel's Thor

2011 is shaping up to be a pretty busy year for Marvel's 'Cinematic Universe', introducing both Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger to the movie-going public in advance of their highly anticipated superhero ensemble The Avengers the following summer. First up of course is director Kenneth Branagh's take Thor starring Chris Hemsworth in the lead role as the Norse god alongside Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Anthony Hopkins (Odin), Natalie Portman (Jane Foster) and Jaimie Alexander (Sif).



If you were lucky enough to attend the 2010 SDCC (or fast enough to catch the leaked footage on the internet), you may have caught a glimpse of what's in store courtesy of a special five minute preview that was shown at the convention. Well, after releasing the poster yesterday via Yahoo Movies, the folks at Marvel have now gave us an official trailer which you can check out right here...

So far there seems to be a bit of a mixed reaction to Thor, and while I can understand how it's going to be difficult to mix the more fantastical elements with the 'real-world' feel established by Jon Favreau's Iron Man series, in all honesty it could be looking a whole lot worse. Either way, we'll find out when the film hits cinemas on April 29th (UK) and May 6th (USA).
