Pittsburgh Steelers hope short week leading to a long layoff.
The Steelers (10-4) practiced Tuesday his day out of the ordinary during the day of preparation in the field just before Thursday's game against the Carolina Panthers (2-12).
Normally, NFL players do not welcome games that are only three days rest, especially after a game as tense as the physical loss of the Jets 22-17 on Sunday.
"Some weeks, on Thursday, do not know how I'll play on Sunday," Ryan Clark said Tuesday.
However, the Steelers almost seem to welcome this game from this place before, not only because it is against an opponent who had won just once all season before beating Arizona on Sunday.
"I would have played tonight's game on Sunday," said linebacker James Farrior.
Discount: The Steelers have nine days off before the end of their regular season game at Cleveland (5-9) Jan. 2. Then they won the AFC North and No. 2-seeded in the AFC playoffs, they will get an extra week before their first playoff game.
