Ed Moody reporting from Sebring...

Veteran motorsports writer / enthusiast Ed Moody is at Sebring for the 12 Hour race this coming weekend. Below is a quick email from Ed as the teams prepare to enter the legendary racing facility....

If he's got it right, the weatherman says we will suffer through 7 more days of highs of 85, lows of 60 and bright sun every day. What a perfect start to the Sebring 12 hours.

Last year, 33 cars started the race. Today, 57 cars are here waiting to qualify.

Advance ticket sales are reportedly 10% ahead of last year. The staging area is full to overflowing. Tomorrow will see the herd admitted to the track and racing begins for real.

Combine all this with $18 dollar 24's at Wally Mart and it's shaping up for the perfect storm!

Plan to attend the race in person or stock up on comfort food, burgers etc. and couch-potato the event on Speed Saturday.

I will update at the end of the day.

--- Ed Moody.
