2011 is shaping up to be another busy year for Jason Statham (The Expendables). In addition to action flicks The Mechanic and The Killer Elite, Statham has also provided voice work for the CG-animated adventure Gnomeo and Juliet and will return to kick ass on home soil next summer with Blitz, a new British thriller based on the hard-boiled crime novel by Irish author Ken Bruen and brought to the screen by director Elliott Lester (Love Is The Drug) and scribe Nathan Parker (Moon). Set for release in Summer 2011, Blitz sees Statham as a tough police detective who is on the hunt for a serial killer that has been targeting fellow cops. Statham is joined by a strong British cast including David Morrissey (Nowhere Boy), Luke Evans (Clash of the Titans) and Paddy Considine (Dead Man's Shoes), and you can check out the official trailer right here...
